After getting a DUI, upon appearing in court, the judge may order a screening to determine the level of DUI programming needed. You must make an appointment with a licensed DUI facility in order to accomplish this mandate. Make sure you bring all your court documents with you to your appointment.

A screening requires completion of necessary agency forms, two testing instruments, and a face-to-face interview with a licensed substance abuse counselor. This professional will conduct an in-depth interview with you after reviewing all court documents, completed forms and testing instruments. Upon completion, the counselor will review the findings with you and explain the reasoning behind his or her recommendations for the level of DUI programming assigned. . All DUI programming will require at least 16 hours of education classes and may require additional hours of treatment classes. The screening process in total will take approximately two hours and a report to the court will be sent. In addition, MVD will be sent notification of your screening completion via electronic reporting.

PLEASE NOTE: WE NEED THE EXACT DATE OF YOUR DUI OFFENSE IN ORDER TO ACCOMPLISH THIS.
